About the Award
Established in 2003 by the Sutton Avian Research Center and in collaboration with NatureWorks, Inc., the Sutton Art Award recognizes high school students who demonstrate the ability to communicate current conservation topics in compelling ways. The Sutton Art Award is comprised of up to $20,000 in cash which will be distributed to winning student submissions and their instructors as determined by the selection committee.
This scholarship competition is free to enter and open to all Oklahoma High School students grades 9-12 (public, private or homeschool). In addition to the artwork, each student submits a 250-word essay that explains how his or her work communicates information about a current conservation issue. Each submission is judged 2/3 or artwork and 1/3 on essay. Categories: 2-D, 3-D and PHOTOGRAPHY
